John Comes to Phoenix and Nick/Kaylyn "Parent" a Teenager

Note: the author felt like writing about themselves and their loved ones in third person. Please enjoy this point of view.

In Part 1 of John comes to Phoenix, Kaylyn explains the activities around town and fun moments during the week that John was here. You see, Nick and Kaylyn were very excited to have John come into town to play tour guide and spend time with him! After John got off the plane, Nick and Kaylyn immediately took him to their favorite restaruants in town: China Chili for some delicious Chinese food. Kaylyn then insisted that they take John to the local grocery store to buy any food that he wanted to eat throughout the week, since that is something Kaylyn's mom always does when she comes into town.

The next morning, we all got up early and headed to the Grand Canyon (which we'll talk about in Post 2)!

After our adventure at the Grand Canyon, we enjoyed a much more relaxing day at home. We ended up playing Risk with our friends Seth and Lexi for almost six hours haha!

On Monday, we all got a little wet at Big Surf waterpark in Tempe. Boy, were we in for a crazy fall! One of the rides was literally just a straight drop down. I knew that I was in trouble when I heard Nick grunt on the way down haha Needless to say, after I went down that ride once, I didn't go down it again! We enjoyed a meal afterwards at Culinary Dropout!

Also, please note in the previous picture John dumping water on his head lol

On Tuesday, we headed out to Rocky Point, Mexico (which will be Part 3 of this series of posts).

When we returned back to the Valley, Nick had to return to work so I took John to the Musical Instrument Museum. We had a delightful time avoiding all of the summer camps full of small children and banging on the bongo drums after touring the museum. On Saturday, we had an impromptu adventure by taking John for his first visit to Goodwill. Nick was looking for some gaming controllers, and decided to ask the worker if they had anything like that. While they didn't have the controllers that Nick needed, they did have a full Wii set. Nick and John examined it, and determined that it had all of the parts that it needed. And just like that, before the evening was through, WE HAVE A WII! We can enjoy playing Wii sports and Wario Ware Smooth moves :)
We then took John to El Super and stocked up on Jarritos and pan dulces. We ended our time at Harumi's Sushi restaurant and said goodbye to John the next day.

Thanks for visiting us John--we had a blast!
