We took a Mega Bus from Philadelphia to NYC, arriving with enough time to figure out the subway, head out to Queens, and find our Air B n B. We got settled in, did our laundry at a laundromat down the street (haha), got on our best clothes, and headed over to Times Square.
Nick and I both expected to hate the buzz and crowds of Time Square, but we loved it! We walked around, walked into the Disney Store, and then headed over to Schubert Theater for Hello, Dolly! I was SO pumped to see my first show on Broadway, and boy, I wasn't disappointed! The show was hilarious, and I loved seeing all of the songs that I grew up with from the Barbara Streisand movie come to life on stage!
After the show, we ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., which hit the spot perfectly!
The next morning, we got up and hit the ground running. We had a hodgepodge of things that we wanted to see and do that day. We decided to start right off at the Empire State Building.
We then were on the hunt for some good ole' NYC pizza. And we found it.
We then strolled along the streets of NYC on our way to Central Park, passing Radio City Music Hall and other landmarks. Central Park is WOW! I wish we could have had a whole day there. I mean, there are restaruants, museums, amusement park rides, you name it. I totally geeked out thinking about how they filmed the Disney movie Enchanted haha
We walked through Central Park on our way to the American Museum of Natural History. Nick really loves that kind of stuff, but after seeing the Smithsonian, we didn't really spend too much time there.
After walking around all day, we were pretty exhausted, and headed back to our Air B n B early so that Nick could prepare for his CASPER test the following day, as well as work on medical school application essays. Stay tuned for Post #2 coming up about the rest of our time in NYC!
(Also, can we talk about the kid above that is TOTALLY photobombing?!?!) :D
