January 2019:
- Started off the new year right on the boat off Miami Beach
- Enjoyed time in Miami and St. Augustine with family
- Had a blast tubing/playing in the snow with Sam and Kirsten
February 2019:
- Enjoyed a harbor cruise to celebrate our one year sealing anniversary
- Saw a real life rodeo
- Celebrated Valentine's Day with our traditional Italian at Bucca di Beppo
- Watched President and Sister Nelson speak to thousands in AZ
- Had a rockin' trip to San Diego/Sea World with Sam and Kirsten
March 2019:
- I kiss a giraffe at Out of Africa
- We celebrate Spring Break by hiking Piestewa Peak/visiting a chocolate factory/visiting local sites
- Nick battles an unexplained ringing in his right ear for over a month (which mercifully went away on its own with no explanation)
April 2019:
- Celebrated my 26th birthday
- Visited San Antonio for a second look at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
- Have a blast in Las Vegas for Ian and Alison's wedding with Seth and Lexi
- I open a time capsule made 10 years before in 2009
May 2019:
- I drive a 10 passenger van so that the 8th graders can go to their end of year trip
- Said goodbye to my first classroom and life as a Carson Cougar
- Nick is accepted to Stanford Medical School off of the waitlist
- We commit to Stanford
June 2019:
- Road trip up to Palo Alto to interview at KIPP Valiant Community Prep--I got the job!
- Travel to Florida to spend time with family
- Trip to Bimini, Bahamas for some much needed R & R
July 2019:
- We celebrate with Vicky and J.C. at their wedding
- Road trip to California to apartment hunt--sign a lease on the first apartment we looked at!
- Nick's family flies into Phoenix to help us move to CA
- We say goodbye to friends and our first apartment as a married couple
- We visited SF as a family and took a boat cruise around the Bay
- I start a new job at KIPP Valiant as a 7th/8th grade Social Studies teacher
- I travel to Houston, TX for the KIPP Summit
August 2019:
- Nick camps with his new classmates on SWEAT trip
- Nick's White Coat Ceremony
September 2019:
- We visit the Northern California Renaissance Festival for the first time
October 2019:
- We celebrate Nick's 26th birthday
- We attend the Medical School prom
November 2019:
- We enjoyed a relaxing week at home for Thanksgiving Break and cook our own Thanksgiving dinner
- Nick and I visit Alcatraz and get totally and completely soaked
- We visit the Charles Dickens Christmas Festival to get in the Christmas spirit
December 2019:
- We host a friends Christmas party
- Nick turns in a textbook chapter to McGraw Hill about pregnancy and melanoma
- We celebrate Christmas for two in our apartment with many fun Christmas traditions
- We watch the Nutcracker ballet
- We fly to New Orleans to celebrate Christmas and visit the French Quarter/World War II Museum
- We rung in the New Year in Miami with family
