During the month of September, we were home for one weekend. Amidst going to Tucson, Flagstaff, and Nick flying to Texas for a medical school interview, we headed about 1.5 hours North to Camp Lomiah for a quick overnight camping trip.
We were thrilled to head up with our dear friends Seth and Lexi! We arrived just toward the end of dinner, and eagerly enjoyed some delicious carne asada tacos. We laughed and talked with others in our ward, and then listened to a program performed by the Young Men and Young Women in our ward. We also helped clean up, to the best of our ability haha We were then stoked to find an empty cabin just for the four of us (no stinky teenagers, wohoo!) We slept peacefully in our cabin, but not before a long look at the beautiful stars scattered throughout the night sky.
The next morning, I realized that I had slept really well, which I was really nervous about. I credit that excellent sleep to a quiet cabin, ear plugs, and the pitch black of the forest. We slept until just before breakfast, which was delicious breakfast burritos. After a quick service project, it was time to say goodbye and head on home.
There's nothing in life a quick trip to the great outdoors with some great friends can't fix!
