Jesse's Wedding & Destination: Amarillo, TX

This weekend, Nick and I made our way across the Panhandle to Amarillo, Texas for Jesse's wedding. We had a few adventures along the way as well, in between the wedding festivities!

Albuquerque is about 6 hours away from Phoenix. We dragged our starving selves into Frontier Restaurant, which during my Yelpquest, scored the highest ranking restaurant in The Q. We enjoyed some DELICIOUS Mexican food. All of the reviews said to try the sweet rolls, however, we weren't super impressed. Delicious, but not impressed. Afterwards, we dragged our shaky legs over to the Albuquerque LDS temple and walked around the grounds, Then, it was off on the last 5 hour drive to Texas!

We had a beautiful time at Bobby and Jesse's sealing. The Lubbock temple is small, but beautiful.

We then gorged ourselves with delicious pasta at what was dubbed one of the highest ranking restaurants in Lubbock (per my Yelpquest).

On Saturday, we had some extra time before the wedding festivities, so we headed out to see what Amarillo had to offer! We walked the Historic Route 66, complete with gift shops, old buildings, and antique stores. We got talking to a Route 66 tour guide, and he asked if we had been out to Cadillac Ranch yet. We responded that we had not, and promptly, were given directions to this world famous tourist site that we had no clue about.

Cadillac Ranch is just how it sounds: a field with 10 old Cadillac cars half sticking out of the ground...that everyone has spray painted. Like, layers of spray paint. After getting Nick's shoe stuck in the mud and making our mark on a few of the cars with some loaned spray paint, we felt like we had made our mark and got ready to head to the ring ceremony/wedding reception.

Above all, I am so grateful to see such a dear friend so happy. Many blessings and well wishes to the new Mr. and Mrs. Taylor!
