My 23rd Birthday

On Saturday, April 16th, 2016, I turned 23 years old. I officially feel like an adult now! Throughout my time at BYU, my birthday has fallen during finals week and this year was no exception. In the morning, I proctored the final for Race and Ethnicity, the class that I TA for. I then had ice cream with Christina, who I hadn't seen in months. I will always love my big sister, who taught me everything that I know about how to play cymbals and took care of me my freshmen and sophomore year at BYU.

The highlight of my day was definitely my Murder Mystery Fairy Tale party. My dear friend Jesse went above and beyond and wrote a murder mystery for all of us to perform. Each of us had a character from a fairy tale and it was our job to get together to determine who murdered Cinderella. Jesse did a FANTASTIC job. The plot was creative, interesting, and mysterious. Everyone did an incredible job of getting into their parts and the casting could not have been more perfect. It was so good to be gathered with all of my dear friends for the last time before the end of an era.

Also, fun fact: all of my desired birthday treats had cream cheese: Jesse made brownie chocolate cheesecake, Koa made peanut butter pie, Alayna made Oreo birthday cake truffles, and Sage made veggie weggie...ALL the cream cheese :D

Our cast:

myself-the Fairy Godmother
Michelle--the "Ugly" stepsister
Alayna--Snow White
James--Captain Hook
Brent--Prince Charming
Alicia-Ariel
Jesse--writer and narrator
Sage--Merida from Brave
John--Doc the Dwarf
Koa--Jack the Mouse
Dallis--Huntswomen

To top off my amazing birthday, Koa took me to Chick-fil-A (which I had been craving all day) and sang me happy birthday along with the cashier, who then gave me a free ice cream cone. Sure grateful for these great friends to help me celebrate!
