Destination: The Grand Canyon South Rim

To say that the Grand Canyon was "grand" would be a total understatement. Honestly, it exceeded anything that I could have imagined. The first time I saw the grandeur of the canyon, my breath was taken away. It truly is a sight to behold.
A group of friends made the 3.5 hour drive from Phoenix, arriving at about 11 a.m. It is recommended to arrive before 10 a.m. and I would definitely agree with that statement! With so much to see and do, we wish that we had gotten there a bit earlier! For our first experience (since I definitely plan on going back), we focused mainly on seeing as many of the beautiful overlooks as we could. Definitely utilize the fantastic bus system that the park provides--while we enjoyed walking along the scenic trail that runs from overlook to overlook, we also being able to spend as much time at each overlook as possible and quickly be transported to the next one. Well I don't yet know whether the North or the South Rim is "better," I've gotta say, the South Rim truly evidences why the Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World!
