This weekend, I did not do any homework. I did not do anything for work. I took this weekend off. And how wonderful and necessary this has been.
Thursday, I had a stressful exam and a group project. Afterwards, I felt SO relieved. I was finally able to get to the grocery store and came home to bake, clean, and paint my nails. All good stress relievers for me.
Friday afternoon, I co-hosted our annual Family Literacy Reflection dinner. Reflection is never without it's snafu's, but it came together quite nicely. I was able to bake one of my favorite (and so simple) deserts: marshmallow brownies. Afterwards, I caught up with Miranda over ice cream and then watched Back to the Future.
Saturday morning, my ward took a trip up to the SLC temple. We had the fortunate opportunity to be able to ride in a limo up to the temple: it was actually an affordable way to get the masses up to the temple. We had a splendid time feeling the Spirit and being together, and at the Nauvoo House Cafe afterwards. I spent the rest of the day doing some shopping, catching up with Cameron, and watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Sunday brought the Provo City Center temple dedication. Beautiful. Sacred. Holy. Wonderful.
To top it all off, it's the first day of Spring and it is BEAUTIFUL outside--Jesse and I went to the park for an hour on the swings and I just sat outside reading for an hour and writing in my journal.
This is the life.
