A Simple Sunday

Hands down, Sunday is my favorite day of the week. I love waking up with a sweet feeling of peace, knowing that I don't have to hop out of bed and hit the pavement running, but rather, can take my time getting ready for church and have even longer scripture study.

My favorite kind of Sunday's are those that involve two things: 1) quiet, alone time to contemplate the wonders of the earth and 2) being around those that I love. Well, yesterday, we had a lovely mix of both. After an incredible church service, I came back and laid on my bed for a few hours, reading, writing this blog post and this blog post, writing in my journal, talking with my mom, and mentally preparing myself for the week.

Alayna and I then made jello jigglers and I made my first round of homemade bread! This recipe was incredibly simple and incredibly easy. When the bread came out of the oven, we attacked the loaf in the round pan (below) and it was gone within 10 minutes. There is nothing that beats warm bread right out of the oven.

Here's the ingredients and link to the recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 2-1/4 cups warm water (110° to 115°)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 6-1/4 to 6-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

We then all sat around laughing and talking, enjoyed a competitive game of Phase 10, and helped Koa get ready for his internship interview tomorrow.
