Destination: Arches National Park

Last April, I had the opportunity to visit Arches National Park, the first national park that I've ever been too.

Lately, I've been desperate to get down to Zion's National Park before I leave Utah, so now I've been really missing Arches. Thought I'd reminisce here.

We went down on a Friday and arrived in the late afternoon. We started down a few trails at the front end of the park dinner.

yes, we were taking a selfie as a picture was being taken of us :D Before we left the park that day, we made sure to catch a glimpse of the park's most famous arch, Delicate Arch.

We camped for the night at Archview RV Resort and Campground and definitely had no complaints. The staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, and the campground is only about 8 miles (20 minutes) from the park (you hit the campground before the park coming South on US-191 S).

There were some pretty bad thunderstorms that night, but by the morning, the rain had cleared and we were off to see the rest of the park.

Of course, we spent most of our time focusing on the Delicate Arch.

After getting our fill of Delicate Arch, we decided we should fill our stomachs, so as we were exploring, we found that nature had provided us the perfect "mesa." Other tourists thought we were hilarious, but couldn't deny our cleverness.

We spent the last part of our day looking at the pictographs and admiring the overall gorgeous vistas of the park. We walked down a few more trails and climbed up a few more arches.

We left just in time--as we were driving North toward Provo, the blue clouds that had turned gray turned to black thunderheads and it started pouring. We even ran into snow on the way back.

Our trip was beautiful, relaxing, and was eye-opening to the beauty of God's creations. There will always be a special place in my heart for the red-rock formations of Arhces National Park.
