Friendship-One Mind in Two Bodies

Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot my best friend's senior pictures. And that got me thinking about what true friendship really means. Some people consider friendship how much can be gained from the other person, how much time is spent together, and how many social outings you make together. But friends that do that really aren't friends at all. In my mind, a true friend is someone who won't leave you even if you make the stupidest mistake possible/hurt them deeply, will make time for you even when they have no time to give, will tease you mercilessly and never really mean any of it, will listen to you when no one else will, is willing to have a good time with you no matter what you are doing, will tell you the truth when you're being stupid and ridiculous, will be supportive (even if that means things like doing your laundry, going to boring concerts, or staying up with you until the late hours of the morning), and will love you no matter what person you are and what person you become. People change over time. That means that friendships will change. But true friends will change together, and continue to accept each other as life twists and turns and goes on.

  2. I learned this lesson the hard way.... many years ago:
Friendship is not looking into each others eyes, it's looking in the same direction!
