AZ Renaissance Festival X2

Last year was Nick and I's first visit to the AZ Ren Fest. When Nick asked me if I wanted to go, I was excited--I love history and had never been to anything like this before. Then, when he asked me if I wanted to dress up, my excitement turned to skepticism. Are we really going to become those people!

But yes, dear friends, we have become those people. We have become those people that get a thrill of walking around in costumes on a Saturday, interacting with other people also dressed up in costumes, and pretending that we lived in the 1400's or 1500's.

We had a great time at this year's Ren Fest. We ate a turkey leg, watched a sword swallower, threw some axes and shot some arrows, cheered along during the joust, got captured by some peasants and had to sing a song to get out, and browsed upgrades to our costumes. Don't worry, those upgrades won't be coming for many years, as those costumes cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000. We'll pass.

One of the best parts of the Ren Fest is just being together. It is just so fun to go on these adventures with my sweetheart.

In short, if you have never been to a Renaissance Festival, or a festival like this, you need to go. It's a blast. And make sure you dress up in costume.
