Spring Break 2017

7th period. One half hour. Two hours earlier than a normal school day. About half the class is engaged in the Kahoot review game we were playing, the other half laughing and talking, glancing frequently at the clock on the wall. This was me about a week and a half ago, with these students teacher just as frequently looking at the clock as they were. When the bell finally rang, I was ready for the break. You see, being a teacher is stressful. I welcomed the feeling of freedom and couldn't wait to spend time with my beloved fiance and my mammacita, who was flying into town.

About 15 minutes after that last bell, I was home and frantically cleaning my apartment, preparing for Nick to arrive. When Nick arrived, we knelt in prayer and consecrated our break to our Heavenly Father. We prayed that we would be safe throughout our break and that we would be able to have fun together, relax, and stay close to the Lord. After watching the first episode of The Series of Unfortunate Events, we went to one of Nick's favorite Chinese restaurants, located in the fading Mesa Fiesta Mall. We then walked around the mall, and ended up buying Nick's wedding band AND my birthday present ;)

That Saturday, my mom came into town! Nick and I ran errands all morning (to the tailor, to the dry cleaner, to the bank) before my mom flew in! The first place we went was for some grub at one of our favorite restaurants, Joyride Taco. We then went to play glow-in-the-dark-miniture golf, where my mom very much creamed Nick and I.

On Sunday, we relaxed and went to church, played board games, and had a lesson from the sister missionaries.

Monday was dress shopping! Tuesday was more dress shopping and I said yes to my dress :)

On Wednesday, we spent most of the morning trying to figure out what outfits we were going to wear for our engagement pictures and driving up to Sedona to take them. We had such an excellent shoot and were so impressed with our photographer, Andrew Holman of Andrew Holman Photography. We could not be happier with our pictures (which I will post soon). He promised us an hour shoot, 100 edited images and we had an hour and a half shoot and received over 300 edited images of excellent quality!

Thursday was more shopping, Friday was more shopping and my wonderful birthday dinner at Oregeno's. I loved me some pazoki and then my mom was off back to Ohio. We were SO glad to have her here and so sad to see her go!
