The Final Bow

Winter One Acts. 42nd Street. All the Great Books. Bye, Bye Birdie (or the show that must not be named). The Laramie Project. Once Upon a Mattress. Alice in Wonderland. Footloose.

My 8 Southview productions. I remember when I first stepped into the theater and met Ms. Shepard. And got my first role as...Chorus Girl #14. I knew I couldn't sing or dance, so I joined set crew for the Musical. Until Mr. Hoffman recruited me to play auxiliary percussion in the pit. I worked my way up on stage from chorus to bit parts to lead roles. And I've sat in the pit for all four musicals making dinging, banging, and horsie noises. It's been an incredible journey.

The late nights of rehearsal during tech week, memorizing lines, learning complicated mallet parts, figuring out how to play a bell set that's as tall as your head when sitting down, developing characters, saying "I'm late" WAY too many times, putting on too much makeup, going down the yellow brick road, and breaking a leg. Each moment was an absolutely wonderful experience that I'll never forget.

Act like a champion.
