I could not have asked for a better day spending time in Historic Kirtland with my seminary class. Despite the rain and getting lost a few times, we had lots of fun and some incredible spiritual experiences. I so enjoyed being in the John Johnson farm, learning about the trials Joseph Smith faced there. I cannot imagine being dragged from my bed late at night and being beaten, poisoned, and tarred & feathered...not to mention losing a child only a week later. Throughout my whole time in Kirtland, my testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith was strengthened as I was struck by the many trials he faced. As we visited the temple, I was also struck by how much work the early saints performed to make a beautiful place to worship. For the time period, the Kirtland temple certainly was huge!
My favorite experience definitely occurred in the School of the Prophets where my seminary class humored me (thanks guys) and we sang The Spirit of God in a place dedicated to the Lord. The spirit felt there was indescribable.
When I came home, I was greeted by a decorated door and a decorated bedroom! Thank you to McKenzie, Laura, and Sam (in spirit)for coming over in the rain to decorate my door! I had a wonderful dinner with my parents and a week later had a wonderful dinner with my three best friends at Olive Garden.
I could not have asked for a more wonderful birthday ♥
