Mammacita in the House

It was a blast to have my mom fly into town for Nick's baptism. She arrived Friday afternoon while I was still at work, so Nick picked her up and drove her promptly to Mesa, hopefully to catch the last few minutes of me teaching. Nick and my mom walked in just after I had finished handing out quite a few detentions, so perfect timing. My mom was able to see my classroom and see what I do as a teacher everyday. She also wanted to visit Desert Industries, where we were able to find some great board games that will keep us laughing for months to come.

We ate dinner at Culver's that night. This was the first meal that I was really able to eat and enjoy after my ER visit just days before. The custard was absolutely delicious :) I had such a fun time talking with my mom at night, as we had a sleepover in my room.

Saturday, the focus was on Nick, as it was his big baptism day. My mom has great taste and so, of course, wanted to each lunch at Cafe Zupa's. She cried throughout Nick's baptism and bought him two beautiful pictures, one of Christ hugging a man and another of the Mesa temple. She then took us out for a delicious meal at Red Lobster.

Sunday, we had a relaxing day together. She made cinnamon rolls for our Relief Society presidency meeting and then went to church with us. Afterwards, she made dinner and we all played Outburst together for the bulk of the evening.

I was sad to see her go early Monday morning, but so grateful she could be here. I can't wait until she comes back in March!!
