"I Love to See the Temple"...and We Went Inside

It seems like this new year, we have been met with nothing but opposition as far as my health goes. Just one week after returning to work and graduate school from Winter Break, I was in the Emergency room for my ruptured ovarian cyst. Then, just this past week, I came down with a nasty case of strep throat--we're talking golf ball in the throat, swollen lymph nodes, and two ear infections in my recently pierced lobes.

Aside from these health challenges (which I am blessedly recovering from), we have had so many blessings. Starting the new year off in St. Augustine and Miami, my mom visiting Arizona, Nick and I's 6 month anniversary, and Nick's baptism were wonderful highlights. After our inability to go into the temple last week, we determined that this would not let us be deterred from going to the temple. So, this Friday night, accompanied by dear friends, we journeyed to the Gilbert temple.

What a wonderful, spirit filled evening. All of my crankiness and worries melted away as we walked into the temple. While we were waiting to to be baptized, a member of the temple presidency and the Assistant to the Matron came down to the Baptistry to speak with Nick and I. They shared the blessings that the temple has brought them in their own lives, that the temple is a place of refuge from the storms in life, and the importance of returning often to receive revelation. We all especially felt the Spirit in the confirmation room. We all left feeling edified, uplifted, and Nick is very excited to go back!
