A Year in Review: 2015

Wow. Didn't 2015 just begin? How is it ending already! Alas, at the end of the year there is SO much to be grateful for. So much has happened and so much has changed. Always, I am grateful to my Heavenly Father, who makes it all possible. Here's some of the happenings and highlights of my year:

January:
  • returned to BYU for my first semester after my mission. 
  • returned to my job at First-Year Mentoring. 
  • applied to Teach for America. 
  • opened a Pinterest account haha. 

February: 
  • began working in the Provo Temple Baptistry every Friday night. 
  • traveled to Mesa, Arizona for the sealing of my dear friend and companion, Natalie, in the Mesa LDS temple. To learn more about what a sealing is, visit "What Happens in Temples"
  • premiered our first Apartment 82 movie, "Haunting in 82"

March:
  • interviewed with Teach for America.
  • got covered in colored chalk at Festival of Colors. 

April:
  • earned a 4.0 for Winter Semester. 
  • celebrated my 22nd birthday. Yep, I'm feeling 22!
  • premiered our second Apartment 82 video, "The Sequel: Scooby Doo Style". 
  • painted our apartment and finally made it a home :) 
  • hiked and camped in Arches National Park in Moab. 

May:
  • received a job offer from Teach for America.
  • attended the sealing of dear friend and former companion, Dani, in the Draper Utah LDS temple.
  • attended the sealing in the Salt Lake City LDS temple of another dear friend and companion, Katie. 
  • hiked a waterfall. 
  • attended the Payson Temple Open House. 

June:
  • hosted an epic surprise dinner for Jesse, fitting 20 people in one University Villa apartment. 
  • opened an Instagram account haha 
  • ran my 1st 5K race. 

July: 
  • taught my first full-fledged ESL class to seven amazing Korean students. 
  • had an incredibly epic 4th of July, complete with hot air balloon show, swimming, Bridal Veils Falls, and fireworks on top of Pizza Pie Cafe. 
  • attended the sealing in the Logan Utah LDS temple of a dear friend and companion, Hailey. 
  • Amanda, who I've known since I was 3 years old, came down from Rexburg to stay with me. 
  • my incredible friends threw me a surprise Girls Night, complete with friends, chocolate, and 27 Dresses. 
  • ran my 2nd 5K. 

August: 
  • made it through my last General Education course, Physical Science. Phew!
  • left my job at First-Year Mentoring. 
  • had a full shoot of roommate pictures after months of pleading :D 
  • had an epic celebration for Sharae's birthday, complete with girls breakfast, bowling, and a trip to Cascade Springs up American Fork Canyon. 
  • saw a meteor shower. 
  • traveled to Huntington Beach, California with my best friend Dallis and her family, where we visited Hollywood, Los Angeles, Balboa Island, Knotts Berry Farms, and Newport Beach <3
  • traveled to the Washington Tacoma mission and Seattle with my best friend Sharae and her family. Got to attend the sealing of a dear friend from the mission, Ashtyn.  <3 

September:
  • began my internship at Project Read Utah. 
  • began teaching at the English Language Center for my teaching Practicum. 

October: 
  • accepted an offer with Teach for America. 
  • celebrated accepting my first big girl job with fro-yo and friends, two of my favorite things. 
  • said goodbye to Sharae as she entered the MTC to serve her mission in Hong Kong. 
  • reunited with the Cougar Marching Band as I volunteered at the Rocky Mountain Invitational. 

November: 
  • watched Ruby Bridges, the first African American child to attend an integrated school, speak at BYU. Amazing. 
  • revamped the blog and began blogging in earnest again. It feels so good. 
  • premiered our final Apartment 82 video, "Star Wards." 
  • celebrated the one year mark of returning home from my full-time mission. 
  • had a cozy and scrumptious apartment Thanksgiving dinner. 
  • spent Thanksgiving Break in Ogden Utah with Carly, Sage, Michelle, Nathan, and the rest of Clark and Wohlgemuth families. 

December:
  • completed a difficult semester with grades better than I expected. 
  • earned a High-Intermediate level on my Spanish Oral Proficiency exam. 
  • passed my NES Elementary Education exams for the state of Arizona. 
  • saw the play Forgotten Carols with Karina.   
  • watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional in the LDS Conference Center and saw the Lights at Temple Square. 
  • accepted an offer to work at the ESL Writing Lab on BYU campus next semester. 
  • returned home to Toledo, Ohio for Christmas Break to spend time with my beloved parents, our dog, studying for the NES, eating, shopping, and going to Wildwood. 

It's been a FANTASTIC 2015! Here's to a great 2016 ahead :)
