Last month, I received an e-mail from the Humanities department about an English Immersion Program occurring at BYU during July. The program had 30 Korean university students coming for an intensive 4-week, 3-hour intensive English classes 4 times a week. And, on a whim, I sent in my resume. The next day, I had an "interview," and by the end of that night, I was hired. I couldn't believe it! My first real teaching experience! Now, as July draws closer, I am absolutely terrified because I have never actually taught my own classroom, nor do I feel prepared to teach Korean students, for 3 hours, or teach business English. But I am INCREDIBLY excited for this opportunity because I feel like it is one of my figurative moments to shine.

Opportunity.
There have been several moments these past few months that have taught me a lot about the importance of being prepared when opportunity comes knocking. All of them have had to do with employment.
